SAMPE north America announces 2025 conference location

DIAMOND BAR, CA, April 18, 2024 –The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) today announced that for next year, its annual conference and expo will be in Indianapolis, IN, from May 19 – 22, 2025.

SAMPE selected Indianapolis for its business climate and location. Here are key points that made the selection clear:

●25% of the world’s greatest research universities are located within 500 miles of Indianapolis.

●Highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the nation:
a.One in five Indiana residents works in advanced manufacturing
b.2nd overall automotive production
c.1.3 million cars and trucks produced annually

●The state’s aerospace and defense industry is robust:
a. Over $1 billion invested by major aerospace businesses since 2013:

●The automotive industry is strongly represented in Indiana, with over 100k total in-state automotive jobs from top automotive makers: Ford, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and more.

 

“Meeting in Indianapolis was a very strategic decision,” said Dr. German Reyes-Villanueva, SAMPE North America’s incoming 2025 president. “The state is long known as the crossroads of America with strong manufacturing and logistics activities in automotive and aerospace transportation areas. Of course, the surrounding area has a deep history in the automotive sector, with easy access to Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, and areas in between. We can’t forget too, that the NCAA and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway are headquartered in Indianapolis. There’s a lot of reasons to exhibit here.”

1.Modern Convention Center: This city is connected by skywalks to more hotel rooms than any other in the nation. Also linked to the center are a four-story urban shopping mall, restaurants and clubs, well-known sports venues, and a 10-block state park that features top museums, green space, and a convenient canal walk.
